The Puppy That Nobody Wanted

(This is what Chancy looked like as a puppy.)
Chancy was purchased as a puppy by snooty people who couldn't stand her tearing up jack and ripping their furniture to shreds. So they took her to the pound to get rid of her.
They put her in a cage and locked it. People were coming and going but nobody picked her out. She was so sad, but one day a young couple came from Greentown and seemed to like her, so they took her home. She was so happy. After a while the couple decided they couldn't stand each other, so they got a divorce, then neither of them wanted Chancy. Unhappy again, she was left in the house for hours and days at a time, so they put an ad in the paper to get rid of her again. By this time, Chancy was 4 and a half-years-old, and needed a friend and a real home. I saw the ad in the paper, and went to see her. She acted like I was her long lost friend, and I couldn't resist taking her home. She immediately jumped in my truck, and seemed to be one happy dog. She has been with me ever since.

June 30th MY BIRTHDAY

Today is my birthday and Dale woke me up yelling HAPPY BIRTHDAY. We went for a huge walk up and down mudding Dixon Road. Had to get squirted with the hose which I enjoy to get pretty again. Then we got in our Toyota truck and went to get some breakfast . Following that we went to Krogers and Dale bought me a large bag of yummies. I wonder what he has in store for me the rest of my BIRTHDAY. I will keep you informed.

Telephone Pole Blues

Chancy was half asleep lying at the patio door when she spotted a squirrel running across the top of our back wooden fence. Opening the sliding door, she darted after the poor thing. Mr. Squirell made it up the telephone pole ,at the corner of our lot, thinking what a stupid dog. Continuous barking forced the squirell right into a power transformer box frying it. Falling on the other side of the fence , Chancy couldn't get to it. Hoping Mr. Squirell is now in heaven, Chancy is singing the blues cause she couldn't eat it.

Show Off

Chancy and I went to get some stuff at the Woody's the other day. I parked close to the window where everyone could see Chancy sitting behind the steering wheel. All of the sudden a horn starts honking. The clerk looked at me amazed and asked "Is that your dog honking the horn?"
I told her "Yes" but I lied. She said "what a smart dog ."

Wildcat Adventure

Chancy's nose is a marvelous thing . I took her down by the old Wildcat Creek adventure started. Sniffing everything, her attention zeroed in on an old fallen tree limb . It was huge. I tried to see what was making her so frantic. Nothing caught my eye. She kept jumping and barking with her head pointed skyward. Trying to get her attention away from whatever it was didn't happen. Then she kept pulling me till I was standing on the huge limb. My weight caused the limb to move . Faint noises were heard. Chancy was going crazy. Moving the limb would not be easy for me but I moved it I little bit. No noises were heard. “Come on lets go home” I told her.
We were walking to the truck when sounds came from the woods. They alerted Chancy's senses. She became extremely quiet listening for the sounds. Then the sound came again. It was like a high-pitched shrill and closer yet. My nerves were beginning to breakdown and Chancy was ready to go after it. What should I do? If I let here go after it I may never see her again although she always comes back when she gets loose at home but this ain’t home. The sounds came again. It could be a baby screaming or a mountain lion. I decided to let Chancy go after it. Reaching down to let her loose, I said a prayer.
Hi-Ho Silver away. She went toward the sounds straight into the woods. All of the sudden “QUIET”. 5min. 10min. 15min. . Second thoughts entered my mind. Have I lost my marbles Surely she wouldn’t give up a life of luxury for some unknown mystery.. Calling her was useless.
Her nose had taken over all her other senses. She will find whatever was making those sounds or die trying. Then I heard the never ending barking. She must have encountered her prey . I had to get to her one way or another.
This is not worth having a heart attack over so I walked toward the Chancy’s barking. Louder and louder it got. I can’t see her yet. Will I ever get to her.
Finally I caught a glimpse of her trying to climb a tree. I yelled at her. She came to me and ran back to the tree. Reaching the tree I looked up to see a family of raccoons. Little ones to great big ones. Get out from under the tree or they will pee all over you.
We finally went home where Chancy collapsed for the next few days.

What happened to summer?

Please tell me.
My acking back and stiff joints know somethings going on.
Chancy wouldn't go outside this morning. If you hear a KABOOM , its hear bladder exploding.
You don't want to be around when that happens.
We went to McDonalds this morning to get our usual stuff. I've been sharing my biscuit and hashbrown with Chancy and not buying an extra one for her When we got home Chancy's boyfriend was waiting on her. He looks more like a rat than a dog. Anyway she loves that thing. I keep telling her she's to high class to be seen running around with him. It goes in one ear and right out the other. Guess I'm gonna get out my baseball bat and let her have it.

A Day at the Park

Chancy and I went to the Park yesterday . There were 2 firetrucks there doing nothing. Then she tried to attack the firemen. They were scared of her at first but soon found out how friendly she is.Then she spotted a squirrel. Crouching like a tiger , her eyes were glued on the prey. Thoughts of 5 broken ribs passed through my mind. Like a bolt out of you know where, the chase was on. Thankfully there was enough leash that she didn't yank my arm out of itssocket. convincing her, the squirrel was a lost cause, then her nose took charge. After smelling everything in site and our tongues were dragging the ground., Wewent home. She's been konked out for quite a while.
